Opportunities at Harvard Business School
The HBS Social Enterprise Initiative is a collaborative effort between the HBS community and leaders in the nonprofit, for–profit, and public sectors to generate and disseminate practicable resources, tools, and knowledge with the ultimate goal of bettering society.
The Social Enterprise Club at Harvard Business School is one of the school’s largest student clubs with over 400 members. The Club creates a community of like-minded students that believe in using business solutions to solve the world’s pressing problems.
The Harvard Business School Social Enterprise Alumni Association is a nonprofit social and professional organization established by and for graduates of HBS who are involved or interested in social enterprise. Its mission is to help alumni more fully engage in and strengthen the social sector, both personally and professionally, at all stages of life.
These programs, presented by the HBS Social Enterprise Initiative (SEI), enable you to pave a decisive, proactive path to leadership within your nonprofit organization. The SEI generates and shares knowledge that helps create social value in the nonprofit, public, and private sectors—supporting the School’s mission to educate leaders who make a difference in the world.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative seeks to study and enhance the effectiveness of corporate social responsibility. It is a multi-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder effort dedicated to research conducted by Harvard faculty, fellows, and students, dialogues and workshops, education, and outreach.
The Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations seeks to expand understanding and accelerate critical thinking about civil society among scholars, practitioners, policy makers and the general public, by encouraging scholarship, developing curriculum, fostering mutual learning between academics and practitioners, and shaping policies that enhance the sector and its role in society.
