Dr. Emily Frank is a general pediatrician and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco and works providing primary care and working in the Emergency Room. She also serves as the Director of Health Education Partnerships in UCSF’s Center for Science, Education, and Outreach, and teaches at Life Academy in the Oakland Unified School District. She serves on the American Academy of Pediatrics executive committee for the Council on School Health.
Dr. Frank graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Biology and a focus on education. She earned her Secondary Science Teaching Credential in Biology from Alliant University while teaching in Vallejo, California. She then earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine – Mainetrack Program where she graduated with Honos Civicus. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of California in San Francisco in the PLUS:Pediatric Leaders Advancing Health Equity Program. She has taught middle school, high school, and community college courses.
Her interests include empowering young people with skills in health literacy and health advocacy and helping diversify the healthcare workforce through initiatives focused on developing interest and skills amongst high school students.
